About the position of Financial Controller
What to expect of the Financial Controller position within Huisman?
As a result of further professionalization of the finance function, we are looking for a Financial Controller. You will have the opportunity to develop this position according to your own insight and experience. You will be working in a team consisting of approximately 26 colleagues, of which 8 colleagues in the Shared Service Center in the Czech Republic and reporting to the Business Controller.
As Financial Controller at Huisman you are responsible for controlling and providing insight into the operational costs (OPEX). You will work closely with various departments to analyze and interpret financial data, and assist in setting up business plans and accurate forecasts. You will contribute to the financial health of the organization by strategically managing costs and providing detailed financial insights.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Control and monitor operational expenditure (OPEX) to identify and report variances in a timely manner;
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports;
- Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure accuracy of cost reporting;
- Support the preparation of business plans and budgets and ensure effective cost control within these plans;
- Prepare and maintain financial forecasts to predict future financial performance;
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend cost saving measures;
- Work with other departments to increase financial awareness and implement cost saving initiatives;
- Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to management;
- Contribute to the improvement of financial systems and processes.

You are:
- Analytically strong;
- Accurate and detail-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility;
- Full-time available.
You have:
- Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field;
- Approximately 3 years of relevant work experience as a Financial Controller, Financial Analyst or similar role;
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data;
- Experience with financial reporting systems and software (e.g. AccountView, ISAH, MS Power BI);
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English and Dutch language verbally and in writing.
