About the position of Data Scientist

We are working on a rapidly growing customer platform. Would you like to join us in this great adventure and help us realize our ambitions? To strengthen the Huisman Digital team, we are looking for a Data Scientist. As a Data Scientist at Huisman Digital, you will be at the forefront of transforming equipment performance data into actionable insights for our clients and internal engineers. Your role involves analyzing equipment performance data and translating it into clear, meaningful information to drive decision-making.
You will collaborate closely with our mechanical and maintenance engineers to identify improvement opportunities and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions. Your expertise will be applied to develop, validate, and implement analytical models that address complex engineering challenges. Additionally, you will play a key role in communicating complex technical findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that your insights have a lasting impact.

What do we expect of you?
As a Data Scientist you will be responsible for:
- Analyze equipment performance data to generate actionable insights for clients and internal engineering teams;
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, concise information for both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Develop, validate, and implement analytical models to address engineering challenges and optimize performance;
- Collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities for improvement and create data-driven solutions;
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in data science and machine learning to continuously enhance analytical methods and tools.

You have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field;
- A proactive mindset with a focus on results and practical, hands-on problem-solving;
- Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and translating data into insights;
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and machine learning;
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to tackle complex engineering challenges;
- The ability to explain technical problems and solutions in an engaging, clear, and concise manner;
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work across disciplines, including engineering, data, and client teams;
- An intrinsic drive to continuously improve, standardize, and contribute to the direction of a growing team.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
