About the position of HR Officer
Huisman’s HR Officer is part of the HR’s Support Discipline, the backbone of the HR department. You will be responsible for supporting the HR department and carrying out, managing and optimising the HR process-related administration. You work in a team with two HR Officers and have a lot of contact with Huisman Schiedam employees.

What do we expect of you?
In this role you are responsible for carrying out the operational HR processes with regard to new employees, contract terminations, contract extensions, parental leave, etc.
- You are the functional user of AFAS;
- You handle and resolve questions come in from internal and external stakeholders through various channels (e.g. HR ticket system, mailbox, Teams);
- You provide (first line) information to management and employees about salary, employment conditions and arrangements in accordance with the company’s employment policy and/or Collective Labour Agreement;
- You are responsible for the HR administration regarding inflow, promotions, outflow and all payroll mutations;
- Managing and archiving HR documents and personnel files is part of your work;
- You provide information to managers and employees and ensure that HR documentation is compliant in according to law and for audits (ISO, OHSAS, API);
- You contribute to the improvement of existing methods, systems and procedures;
- After a while we can ask you to take part in or manage HR (Support) projects, such as updating templates/workflows, annual salary increases. Thinking along with the Afas optimization from HR Support perspective will also be a big part of the work in 2025.

You are:
- Available 32-40 hours per week, preferably present on Wednesdays and Fridays;
- Accurate and service-minded;
- Someone who can prioritise well;
- Resistant to stress;
- Team player;
Pro-active.
You have:
- A completed relevant higher professional education;
- At least 5 years of experience in a supporting role within an HR department preferably in an international organization in a similar branche;
- Knowledge of and experience with the HR application AFAS is a must;
- Knowledge of and experience with process development and design in HR Systems;
- Interest in data analysing/HR Reporting is an advantage;
- Experience with project-based operations;
- An open personality and you thrive in a Rotterdam working atmosphere.
Some practical things we need you to have:
- An EU passport/valid work permit for The Netherlands;
- A good command of the English language verbally and in writing.
